Your Rights & Transparency in Care

No Surprises Act (Self-Pay & Uninsured Clients)

At Talk Through It Counseling PLLC, we believe that feeling informed and secure in your care includes understanding the cost of services. We are committed to transparency, so you can focus on your healing—not unexpected bills.

If you do not have insurance or choose not to use your insurance benefits (often referred to as “self-pay”), you are protected under the Federal No Surprises Act.

What This Means for You

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate before beginning services. This estimate provides a clear understanding of the expected costs for your care, including any services that may be reasonably associated with your treatment.

We will always do our best to ensure this estimate is accurate, clear, and easy to understand.

If Costs Differ from Your Estimate

If you receive a bill that is $400 or more above your Good Faith Estimate, and the service occurred within 120 days of receiving that estimate, you have the right to challenge the bill.

You can use the Patient-Provider Dispute Resolution (PPDR) process, which helps determine a fair payment amount. This process can be started online, by mail, or by fax.

To begin a dispute online, please visit the Patient-Provider Dispute Resolution (PPDR) process-https://nsa-idr.cms.gov/billdisputes/s/ or you can also call The No Surprises Help Desk at 1-800-985-3059 from 8am - 8pm EST, 7 days a week.

We’re Here to Support You

If you have any questions about your estimate, fees, or your rights under the No Surprises Act, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to help you feel informed, supported, and confident in every step of your care.
